For CUPE health care members in:
CUPE 204 (Community & Facility)
CUPE 4270 (Community)
CUPE 500 (Community & Facility)
With your strike mandate, the CUPE bargaining team went back to the bargaining table today.
Based on all the feedback we received from our members, we were able to present a strong case on why health care support workers are ready to strike for better.
What happens next?
We have another day of negotiations on September 10 but we are continuing to prepare for strike action. No strike date has been set.
Picket Captain Training
If a strike happens, we need picket captains (people to help out on the picket line).
If you are interested in becoming a picket captain, please review and fill out the form here: cupe.mb.ca/members/picketcaptains.
CUPE will be issuing Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) updates in the lead-up to a potential strike.
These FAQs will include information on Essential Services, Strike Pay, Responsibilities & Expectations, and more. Please update your member information so you don’t miss these important FAQs.
Update your contact information
We strongly encourage all members to provide your updated personal contact information to your CUPE local.
If a strike takes place, we will need to be able to contact you with real-time updates.
Please reach out to CUPE at healthcare@cupe.ca if you have any questions and stay tuned for our next bargaining update.
