CUPE Manitoba Administration

February 2, 2021

Sisters, brothers and friends

I am writing to advise you that, per Article 7.8 of our National Constitution, I have placed CUPE Manitoba under administration. This means that the CUPE Manitoba Executive Board has been dissolved, and an administrator has been appointed to ensure the operations and obligations of the Division are fulfilled until a convention can be held and a new Executive Board elected.

Lee McLeod, CUPE’s Regional Director in Manitoba is filling the role of administrator. He will be reaching out to CUPE Locals across Manitoba over the next number of weeks, and will develop a plan to ensure the work of the Division continues.

Rest assured, this in no way effects our members’ representation at meetings with employers, bargaining, or CUPE’s advocacy in the workplace and community. CUPE members and locals will continue to receive the expert servicing you have come to expect from CUPE.

In solidarity

Mark Hancock
CUPE National President
