The members of CUPE Local 4860,working at the Revera owned Kildonan Personal Care Home voted unanimously to reject the employer’s final offer.
The Employer had given CUPE members an offer for wages that was significantly below what has been agreed to in their other unionized facilities, and CUPE members have decided to stand up and demand to be treated fairly.
This contract rejection is yet another example of CUPE standing up for healthcare workers. CUPE is also fighting the Government of Manitoba’s healthcare cuts, which include Emergency Room closures and funding cuts that are hurting patient care and making life more stressful for thousands of healthcare workers.
CUPE will going back to the bargaining table with this strong mandate in an attempt to get a fair deal for the members at this site.
