CUPE Manitoba mourns the loss of Winnipeg City Councillor Jason Schreyer

It is with deep sadness that CUPE Manitoba learns of the sudden passing of Jason Schreyer, Winnipeg City Councillor for Elmwood-East Kildonan.

CUPE 500 President Gord Delbridge stands with Councillor Jason Schreyer at pickets for stronger municipal public services

Jason Schreyer was a friend to working families and a friend to labour.

For over a decade, Councillor Schreyer was a strong voice for workers, never once failing to stand with CUPE’s vision for stronger public services for Winnipeggers. Councillor Schreyer’s voting record at City Hall was flawless.

Councillor Schreyer was a dear friend to CUPE Local 500, and never hesitated to take a call to discuss important issues facing Winnipeg. He stood by his principles, and was always willing to listen to his constituents, to the city’s front-line workers, and to the community as a whole.

Councillor Schreyer proved that you can stand up for what you believe in regardless of the challenges before you.

On behalf of all CUPE members across Manitoba, and City of Winnipeg workers at CUPE Local 500, we send love and solidarity to Jason’s family, loved ones, colleagues, and friends.
