About

CUPE Manitoba group photo

The Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) is Canada’s largest union representing more than 750,000 members. In Manitoba, CUPE represents approximately 38,000 members working in health care facilities, personal care homes, home care, school divisions, municipal services, social services, child care centres, public utilities, libraries, and family emergency services.

Rooted in solidarity and guided by the principles of fairness, equity, and respect, we work to improve working conditions, protect public services, and advance the rights of all workers. Through collective bargaining support, advocacy and lobbying, and campaigns and community action, CUPE Manitoba defends the value of public work and the people who do it.

From remote communities to urban centres, our members keep Manitoba running — and we’re proud to stand together for a better future for all.

Logo Rationale

The updated CUPE Manitoba logo reflects both the proud identity of Manitoba and the shared strength of its workers. Designed in alignment with CUPE’s national brand guidelines, it features the official “CUPE” wordmark for consistency and recognition across the country. The word “Manitoba” appears below in CUPE’s primary typeface, Avenir, maintaining a clean, unified visual identity.

At the heart of the design is a waving flag — a symbol of solidarity, movement, and collective strength — with a bison at its centre, honouring Manitoba’s rich heritage and resilient spirit. Together, these elements represent CUPE Manitoba’s commitment to standing strong for workers and building better communities across the province.
