CUPE Manitoba is proud to recognize the week of September 29th – October 4th, 2024, as School Support Staff Recognition Week. This important week acknowledges the value of School Support Staff to our education system.
During this important week, we will be celebrating the important contributions of School Support Staff in keeping our schools safer and clean, getting children and youth to school safely and on time, keeping our schools running, shelves stocked with books, and helping our children and youth learn, grow, and succeed.
While we take the time to celebrate School Support Staff this week, we also recognize the importance of continuing to call on the Provincial Government with School Division Locals to prioritize treating all School Support Staff equitably and with respect.
Our work together through the School Division Sector Council helps us work harder to ensure fairness in the workplace, fairness at the bargaining table, and achieve stronger contracts to ensure equity, wages, defined benefit pensions are prioritized throughout Manitoba. This in turn will create a more inclusive, safer, and better education system for everyone.
To recognize the 2024 School Support Workers Recognition Week in Manitoba this year, CUPE Manitoba is highlighting
the following actions:
1 – CUPE Manitoba’s “Light the Night for School Support Workers” on
