What’s New at CUPE Manitoba?

At CUPE Manitoba's 2025 Convention, delegates voted to adopt two (2) Resolutions that will provide an opportunity for members from Affiliated Locals the opportunity to join in 2026.

Every October, CUPE Manitoba proudly joins Canadians in celebrating Women’s History Month a time to reflect on the contributions of women, in all their diversity, throughout history and to reaffirm our commitment to gender equality in our workplaces, communities, and beyond.

On May 26, an email with poster attached was sent to all Locals and current committee members providing 30 Days Notice for Co-Chair Elections for all Issues-Based Committees for 2025.

Please contact your Local President to become a Delegate or Alternate. Even members without Delegate or Alternate status from their Local are welcome and encouraged to attend. However, you must be a Delegate or Alternate to stand for election or to have a vote.

Committee meetings are held online and each committee has an annual budget and an assigned National staff liaison to support their work.

CUPE MANITOBA COMMITTEES & ELECTIONS - JANUARY 2024
CUPE members and Locals are advised of the following upcoming CUPE Manitoba Committee meetings and the Election Caucus for the vacant Co-Chair positions.

This is an official Notice for the Elections Caucus for the following Equity Committees:
- 2SLGBTQI+ (new Committee)
- Persons with Disabilities (new Committee)
- Racialized Workers (new Committee)
- Women & Gender Rights
- Human Rights

Please note that the Indigenous Council had been meeting in joint meetings with Human Rights/Equity committees but there is now a separate Indigenous Council meeting January 23, 2024 at 7:00 pm online.

The first full Meetings of CUPE Manitoba’s Standing Committees (Issues-based committees only) have been scheduled in January. These meetings have been scheduled by staff committee liaisons in coordination with the members who participated in the committee welcome meetings in November.

We strongly encourage Local Affiliates and members to circulate, share, and post this notice in order to recruit and promote the renewal of these important Standing Committees in Manitoba.
