Emterra drivers and swampers join CUPE

Winnipeg - Emterra employees in Winnipeg have voted to become members of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE).

"We welcome our newest members from Emterra into CUPE," says CUPE Local 500 President Mike Davidson. "All workers have the right to be represented by a union, and we are looking forward to negotiating a fair contract on their behalf.

Winnipeg – Employees at ArlingtonHaus have voted to join the Canadian Union of Public Employees.

“We are honoured that employees at ArlingtonHaus have chosen to join Canada’s largest union,” says Debb Grimaldi, Acting Regional Director for CUPE.  “We are looking forward to working with these new members and the employer to establish a first collective agreement for their workplace.

Maples personal care home employees ratify tentative agreement

Employees at Maples Personal Care Home (PCH) in Winnipeg represented by CUPE Local 2719 have ratified a new collective agreement on Wednesday, July 31st.
A 94% strike mandate was achieved on June 28th, followed by four days of information pickets and meetings with a provincial conciliation officer. These information pickets drew over a hundred supporters, including CUPE members from across Manitoba.
