Are you interested in being the Chair for one of CUPE Manitoba’s Committees?
We are excited to share the changes that are being made to make the CUPE Manitoba Committee structure more effective and engaged for all participants! The CUPE Manitoba Executive Board approved changes to the Committee structure September 3, 2026, following the 2026 Convention.
Our Committees serve a valuable function within the structure of our union. They provide a venue for greater member involvement, they collect and consider a wider diversity of viewpoints, provide critical advice to the CUPE Manitoba Executive, and are a venue for training and succession planning for our provincial leadership.
The Human Rights and Issues-based Committee Chair positions will now be appointed by CUPE Manitoba. Similar to the process used by CUPE National, members will apply to be the Chair of a Committee (see the link below to apply). A Vice-Chair for each Committee will then be elected by the Committee delegate members at the first All Committees meeting.
