Chair Application Extended for Five (5) of CUPE Manitoba’s Committees

Further to our announcement in September, launching the new Committee Structure, we are progressing through our process of Committee Chair appointments.

Our Committees serve a valuable function within the structure of our union. They provide a venue for greater member involvement, they collect and consider a wider diversity of viewpoints, provide critical advice to the CUPE Manitoba Executive, and are a venue for training and succession planning for our provincial leadership.

The Human Rights and Issues-based Committee Chair positions will now be appointed by CUPE Manitoba. Similar to the process used by CUPE National, members will apply to be the Chair of a Committee (see the link below to apply). A Vice-Chair for each Committee will then be elected by the Committee delegate members at the first All Committees meeting.

Applications for the positions listed below will be accepted until October 19th, 2026, at 4PM.

2SLGBTQI+
Indigenous Council
Racialized Workers

Issues-Based Stream
Safer Spaces
Charitable Works
