Manitoba Filipino Street Festival 2025

CUPE Manitoba will be participating in the Filipino Street Festival again this year, as a GOLD Sponsor!

The Filipino Street Festival includes the Filipino Cultural parade on August 16th, alongside two full days of representation in the village with our CUPE MB tent (August 16-17) at Maples Multiplex, 434 Adsum Drive.

With more than 17,000 Manitobans forced to evacuate their homes and communities due to unprecedented wildfires, CUPE Manitoba is appealing to CUPE Locals to contribute to the First Nations and Métis relief efforts, and the Red Cross Manitoba Wildfires Relief Fund.

CUPE Manitoba recognizes and celebrates the Week of the Early Childhood Educator (ECE) in Manitoba.

The week of the ECE is an important week to recognize and thank all Early Childhood Educators in Manitoba who work tirelessly to support our communities' children, youth and families.

To mark this important week, CUPE Manitoba shares a reminder to all CUPE Locals in Manitoba to extend a thank you to all Early Childhood Educators, Providers, and Child Care staff who are on the frontlines serving our communities and that Child Care is essential, and not just in times of crisis.

Earth Day Conversations for CUPE Locals in Manitoba

For April 22, Earth Day, President McKay spoke with CUPE Local 500 member, Cameron Patrick, who is Manitoba’s representative on CUPE National’s Environment Committee.

Brother Cameron shared that “CUPE has made a commitment to fight for the environment, for the good of the planet, individuals, and communities. There are many things we can do as individuals and union members to help out in this fight, including recycling and composting in the workplace.

Prairie Human Rights drag show raises money for Saskatoon warm-up centre

Attendees at the CUPE Prairie Human Rights Conference drag performance raised almost $500 for the Saskatoon Indian and Métis Friendship Centre (SIMFC) warm-up shelter.

On January 21, conference participants had the option of attending a drag performance featuring performers from across the prairies. The optional social evening was part of CUPE’s commitment to offer dry and sober events while highlighting local artists.
